I love the Wren books and have for decades. All the Lhin books to date are great too, but this book is not an enjoyable read, doesn't add to the "world," and is surprisingly unfinished.I finished it because I tend to finish books and feeling I owed a debt to Sherwood Smith for all the great books, but I can't fairly recommend this book.

Barefoot Pirate edition by Sherwood Smith Children eBooks Reviews
This is a great read for young teens as well as pleasant read for older folks. It is an excellent tale about taking responsibility for your actions and growing in maturity. Al this without being preachy or strident. This is a definite five stars for younger readers.
